- When I take screen recordings, I make sure the ~relevant~ content takes up most of the screen and is easily visible. Zoom in as needed
- Get clear on the PURPOSE of each video. Choosing your title/thumbnail before shooting can really help with this.

- instead of doing a live commentary , consider doing commentary after you write your script and record your screen (you can plan out the video edit style and have idea on how it would look like even before you press record )
- spend more time in writing the script ( even more on the first lines of your intro ) let me know if you need any help with that
- trait your video just like how you would trait a blog they all follow the same process of creating them
- when recording split the video into parts and record each one differently your focus should be getting each paragraph in one shot with no stops to think etc...
- try recording with OBS instead of camtasia because it's free and the best recording software in the market

What is the intention of this article?
(see resources linked above) - to write about what I have come to believe is one of the most important principles in my life: quiet confidence and quiet compounding. To make choices for yourself, when no one is watching. And to also consider the other side of the argument, in particular: humans tend to have a natural instinctual need to compare ourselves to others and also to share our achievements with others in order to gain status and attract mates.

How should you go about this?
- "I try never to write from a blank page. I rebel against the flashing cursor of doom with the samurai sword of dumping all my ideas onto a page. I dump all my ideas onto one page and then begin to distill my ideas."
It takes 50 gallons of sap to create 1 gallon of maple syrup and it's the same thing with ideas. You want to have a tonne of intellectual sap and create quality blog posts or syrup.
- CRIBS stands for Confusing, Repeated, Insightful, Boring, Surprising. This framework takes the reader out of the thought process of 'I can't edit because I don't know anything about writing mechanics' and it takes them into the same state that any consumer is in which is about their emotions. There is an obvious answer to every observation there:
when something is confusing, you rewrite it, when something is repeated, you delete it, when something is insightful, you talk more about it, when something is boring, you delete it, when something is surprising you create tension up to that moment because we learn best when we are surprised.
THE PROCESS
- First, answer the essential questions above, collect all of the resources useful (from your knowledge hub and the internet), and pick a rough story structure.
- Then, open the Research and Notes* *page and go through some essential questions about the story structure + delineate a rough outline of your idea for the structure of the post.
- Third, open the Draft* *page and jot down everything you've got in mind as for what to write in the post.
- Finally, refine the draft and turn it into a final draft in the Final Draft* *page.
- Last, design graphic assets.
Some mental models and processes for writing
- Rules are there for a reason. You are only allowed to break them if you are a master. If you’re not a master, don’t confuse your ignorance with creativity or style. Writing that follows the rules is easier for readers, because they know roughly what to expect. For example, aim to make your paragraphs about 10 sentences or 100 words long. A paragraph should present a single idea, using multiple sentences.
- If you are bored while writing, then, most importantly, you are doing it wrong, and you will also bore your reader.
- You have to place yourself in the correct state of mind to write properly. You have to be trying to produce something of worth, beauty and elegance.

- If you can’t write, it is because you have nothing to say. You have no ideas. In such a situation, don’t pride yourself on your writer’s block. Read something.
- You should think of the essay writing process as twofold. The first major step is the first draft, which can be relatively quick and dirty. For the first draft you can use your notes, extensively, and rough out the essay. If you get stuck writing anywhere, just move to the next outline sentence. You can always go back.
The second major step is editing. Production (the first major step) and editing (the second) are different functions, and should be treated that way. This is because each interferes with the other. The purpose of production is to produce. The function of editing is to reduce and arrange. If you try to do both at the same time then the editing stymies the production.
