On sociality

If you observe ants, you will notice how they often bump into each other for a second or more to detect whether they are from the same group and exchange signals. For example, they may signal that there’s food or danger in the vicinity.

Similarly, humans need sociality for practical (transferring knowledge of immediate situations) and abstract (experiencing a sense of feeling understood and appreciated, keeping sanity, positive drive toward the future, and more) purposes.

With an awareness of this biological truth and some humility that you’re not special in some grandiose way, you may appreciate more the next chit-chat, if it has to happen, and even draw positive emotions and insights through it.
