In this week’s issue, we are diving into three life-enhancing pieces of content I found on the internet this week.
Rare Skills — Morgan Housel x Collaborative Fund

In this article, Morgan Housel (author of “The Psychology of Money”) tersely presents 3 “rare and powerful skills”. These are:
- *Understanding how people justify their beliefs in a way that makes you respect their delusions. *You know how deluded you are in your own beliefs. So, if you truly wanted to, you could also feel that delusion in other human beings and empathize with it. Our beliefs are a complex mixture of past experiences, present circumstances, and future ambitions. Internalizing the awareness that everyone is navigating through life delusionally (which is a key component to survival) can be liberatingly empowering.
- Quitting while you’re ahead, or at least before you’ve had too much. Quitting when you’ve had enough of it—whatever “it” is—is life-enhancing. Our default tendency is—generally speaking—to indulge in something we like as much as possible until we squeeze everything out of it. Practicing the habit of distancing yourself before you’ve indulged too much in an activity is a necessary component for long-term life satisfaction.
- ***Getting to the point. ***Being brief, concise, and clear in your communication is a powerful skill because people will listen to you when you are concise and to the point. Use no more words than necessary because that brings clarity to yourself and others.
Surviving the Continuous Chain of Disappointments — Morgan Housel x Collaborative Fund
https://www.collaborativefund.com/blog/surviving-the-continuous-chain-of-disappointments/
“A system that gives you a 55%, or 65% chance of success is phenomenal, but it still means you’ll spend close to half your life getting beat up. Since 100% odds of success are either not lucrative, illegal, or ephemeral, the ability to survive losing is a prerequisite to any shot at eventually winning.
The point is that short-term loss is usually the cost of admission of long-term gain. It’s a price worth paying, but takes time for the product to be delivered.”
Become A Lead Generation Machine (Easy Way To Get More Clients) Masterclass w/ Joana Galvao
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zl2NEKUCZSg
In this “masterclass”, Joana Galvao presents a framework of leads generation and sales composed of 3 pillars. Each pillar has key components and activities:
- Market(ing)
- Choose: be clear about who your ideal client and project are. This leads to positive cycles of ideal clients. The reverse has the opposite effect.
- Connect: understand where you get the majority of your clients from. Double down on your main source of leads. You can also turn word of mouth into your marketing strategy.
- Communicate: show your personality and communicate clearly and uniquely.
- Sell
- Package: productize your service to make things slimmer. Book recommendation: Built to Sell
- Process: implement a sales pipeline. You want to follow up with your leads diligently.
- Perform: Write down scripts for your sales call. Ask Why this, why now, why us***. ***Automate the process as much as needed to make things smooth and be crystal clear on what you want to get out of your discovery call.
- Deliver
- Delight: clients care about little details and how much attention and thought you give to them.
- Document: document every step of your processes. So that your business is built to scale
- Delegate: book recommendation: Clock Work (IPO model of delegation).
That’s it for this week. Thank you for your continued support. Feel free to reply to this email if you’d like to chat.
