In this period of information overload and analysis paralysis, The ‘Weekly Highlights’ collects the 3, most valuable pieces of content I have come across during the week, and packages them in a single page, with some notes and key highlights, so to foster mindful and intentional consumption of content, which can truly add value to our life.

Daniel Goleman is a psychologist and the creator of the concept of Emotional Intelligence (EQ). Emotional intelligence is a human skill which can be developed over time, and which seems to be crucial for effective leadership.

The key pillars behind emotional intelligence are empathy, in its 3 forms: cognitive, emotional, concern; self awareness; self control. These traits (especially self awareness) can be worked upon, particularly through mindfulness practice like focused awareness. The focused and emotionally-intelligent individual possesses the capacity to focus deeply, on one thing at a time, with full presence and an open mind.
